{"id":2860,"date":"2013-06-05T11:26:28","date_gmt":"2013-06-05T10:26:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.istitutoculturasiciliaustralia.org\/?p=2860"},"modified":"2015-07-07T10:38:10","modified_gmt":"2015-07-07T09:38:10","slug":"thrinakia-first-edition-2013-international-competition-of-autobiographical-writing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.istitutoculturasiciliaustralia.org\/en\/eventi-in-italia-en-en\/collaborations-en\/thrinakia-first-edition-2013-international-competition-of-autobiographical-writing\/","title":{"rendered":"Thrinak\u00eca &#8211; First Edition 2013 International Competition of autobiographical writing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Institute of Culture Sicily Australia is delighted in presenting Thrinak\u00eca, the first edition of the International Competition of Autobiographical Writing.<br \/>\nThe competition, conceived and organized by <strong>Le Stelle in Tasca<\/strong>, a volunteer organization recognized by the Regione Sicilia in the area of Social, Cultural and educational activities, celebrates sicilian identity through the experience of everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>The following organizations have collaborated on the first edition of Thrinak\u00eca: Biblioteca Regionale Universitaria Giambattista Caruso of Catania &#8211; the Assessorato Beni Culturali and Identit\u00e0 Siciliana of the Regione Sicilia &#8211; \u00a0the State Archives of Catania and the Ministero per i Beni e le Attivit\u00e0 Culturali.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\"> The competition enjoys the official sponsorship of the Osservatorio Processi Comunicativi &#8211; Associazione Culturale Scientifica.<br \/>\nThe competition promotes unedited biographical writings based on life or experiences lived in Sicily.<br \/>\nThe works can be presented in the Sicilian, Italian or French languages. Sotire written originally in another language, other than the above, must be presented in a translated form relative to one of the official languages of the competition.<br \/>\nauthors can present their works in one or three cathegories:<br \/>\n1) Autobiographies ( Life in Sicily)<br \/>\n2) Autobiographical novels\/short stories ( significant experiences lived in Sicily)<br \/>\n3) Travel diaries ( travel experiences in Sicily).<br \/>\nAn international jury will select the winner of each cathegory and will be able to signal with a special mention particular works of merit.<br \/>\nParticipants to the competition can be:<br \/>\n1) people who reside in Sicily<br \/>\n2) people who have lived, sojourned or travelled to Sicily<br \/>\n3) Sicilian migrants who live in other regions of Italy or overseas<br \/>\n4) immigrants who have lived an experience in Sicily and who are resident anywhere in Italy, including Sicily<br \/>\n5) the family, \u00a0heirs and anyone who is a custodian of a copyright of a decesed person<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To be elegible works must be received in .rft.doc format via electronic mail to : <strong>thrinakia@lestelleintasca.org<\/strong><br \/>\nFor additional information regarding enrollment please consult the documentation below&#8211;><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istitutoculturasiciliaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/regolamento-thrinakia.pdf\">regolamento-thrinakia<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Institute of Culture Sicily Australia is delighted in presenting Thrinak\u00eca, the first edition of the International Competition of Autobiographical Writing.
